The 2025–26 grant recipients were Penn’s Civilians Educational Organization ($5,000), Steelton-Highspire School District (SHSD; $1,000), and Capital Area Headstart ($4,000).
- Penn’s Civilians used the award to support their Produce Pentathlon, a week-long fruit and vegetable consumption competition between middle and high school students in the greater Harrisburg area. The program provided developmentally appropriate enrichment activities to increase awareness of fruit and vegetable intake and access to fresh produce.
- SHSD used the award to improve student attendance and enhance family and community engagement through the continued development of the SHSD Advisory Council. The funds supported targeted attendance interventions, data-driven outreach, and the expansion of collaborative partnerships.
- Capital Area Headstart used the funds to host Family Mornings that prepare three-year-old children for a rewarding and enjoyable transition to preschool by getting them used to a new environment with teachers and teachers’ aides.
