Established in 2019, the Bring Good Health Foundation creates pathways to improve the health and quality of life for Black girls and women through engagement, education, and empowerment. Additionally, they aim to reduce disparities and stigmas within the community.
Although originally founded in Harrisburg, its founder and headquarters later expanded to Maryland. Indira Case, Community Development Consultant, highlighted that the Harrisburg chapter hosts an annual full-day workshop series focusing on holistic health. The best part is that these events are free to attend—all that is required is registration. Indira Indira
The foundation has a College Ambassador Program, which connects students and women in the community, promotes healthier behaviors, and provides training for ambassadors on the different career paths that they are pursuing. Specifically, the program emphasizes nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention education.
In the future, the Harrisburg chapter aims to open a BGH Clinic, like the Maryland chapter, which provides access to nutrition help, mental health resources, and financial literacy resources.
