The 2022–23 recipients of the grant award were Black Girls Health (BGH; $4,500), The KING Center ($2,500), The Salvation Army Harrisburg ($2,000), Grandparents Involved From the Start (GIFTS; $3,500), and Latino Connection ($2,500).
- BGH developed an interactive, virtual health workshop with 360 participants. The grant helped them to effectively advertise the event and invite individuals to lead various parts of the workshop.
- The KING Center used the grant money to hold their annual Summer Enrichment Program. The grant helped them prepare nutritional lunches and plan interactive field trips for the youth in attendance.
- The Salvation Army Harrisburg held cooking classes for community members; the grant provided supplies and food. These classes promoted healthier food choices.
- GIFTS held five virtual self-care sessions for grandparents. These sessions made grandparents, who are caregivers, feel seen and supported, and part of the grant money was used to provide school supplies to the grandchildren.
- The Latino Connection held a campaign to educate and vaccinate the Harrisburg community for COVID-19. A total of 158 people were vaccinated, and 500 children’s books were given away.
