Community Empowerment Services, Inc., provides case management services to returning and at-risk community members. The organization’s goal is to empower individuals with the skills needed to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their lives through education, training, life skills, and additional support services.
Founded nine months ago in Enola, Pennsylvania, by Dr. Michael Eskridge, the organization is designed to help individuals:
1. Navigate the criminogenic needs assessment process, which helps determine the level of support needed for successful reintegration.
2. Address key social determinants of health, as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control, to promote long-term stability and well-being.
In less than a year, Community Empowerment Services has established a collaborative partnership with Cumberland County Prison. Looking ahead, the organization plans to expand services to Dauphin and Perry counties and begin hosting community and neighborhood events focused on re-entry discussions to increase awareness and support.
