Latino Connection has been serving the Harrisburg community for 11 years. George Fernandez founded Latino Connection to fill the gaps in culturally grounded services for Black and Brown individuals in Harrisburg. Latino Connection is a national leader in outreach and education, targeting low-income, underserved communities. They have extensive, proven experience forging initiatives that are first of their kind and span across the nation with corporate and nonprofit partnerships focused on a unified mission – educating, empowering, and uplifting underserved communities.
Latino Connection has been highly successful in achieving their mission. Some accomplishments of the organization include: 2026 National Institute of Health Quit and Thrive Challenge Winner, 2024 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Health Equity Award recipient, 2024 Davey Award Gold for Integrated Campaign-Community Engagement with Highmark Wholecare, and 2024 CVS Supplier of the Year award.
At their core, Latino Connection champions meeting people where they are. This can be seen in their multiple programs reaching out to underserved communities. These programs span from a mobile clinic providing information and vaccinations during the Covid-19 pandemic to empowering Latina and Black women to take care of their own well-being in the face of so many other demands.
